A very successful fisher that is almost universally despised by fishermen ...to my dismay. 30 to 33" in size.....and as well adapted to water as any bird alive. A large black bird that can be frequently seen standing on rocks in the river, on logs and in tree tops....often with wings spread to dry. Orange throat patch and long hooked bill.
