We have here a juvenile Red-Tailed Hawk who is wise enough to know to sit on a pole in a steady rain and not waste energy trying to hunt. As a matter of fact a raptor specialist who trains hawks for falconry has stated that when it rains he never takes his birds out for they will fly up into a nice dead tree and perch there until the rain quits. He says that it's too difficult to get the bird back so he avoids this.
Mind you this is not a trained bird....except perhaps by parental instruction. Still a beauty though.
