18.5", Rich, mottled buff brown color identifies this species. The underwing linings are cinnamon. It's habitat is the Prairies, pools, shores, mudflats, beaches.
Maybe i just picked the wrong time of year, but i found this water/shore bird to be quite aggressive as you can see from the photos he dive bombed me at least twice and was very vocal. My wife got a good laugh at this bird.
